Old Fire Lookout of Paget Peak
Hiking on Paget Peak Approaching the old fire lookout Heading towards the false summit
Park at the Wapta Lake Picnic Area (unsigned). The trail starts just right beside the picnic shelter.
For about an hour and a half we reached the old fire lookout. The trail is clearly signed for the two forks we passed and is well used. From the Lookout, only a false summit is visible. We were fooled by it thinking we were very close.
Ascending higher up the rubble A nice treat seeing a Pika Enjoying the view and doing some breathing exercises
(1) As you ascend higher up the rubble, you'll see the true summit... no wait, it's another false summit.

On another false summit Approaching the true summit Signing the register on Paget Peak
(1) Here we are, on the summit visible from the above photo #1. The weather was just perfect. A good break from a rainy and cloudy weekend.
We walked for about three minutes to a slightly higher true summit to sign the register.
